Yes the corner slits can be a pain at times. This can be due to the machine needing to be realigned/calibrated.

I’m using a 65/35 poly cotton blend. These are the only shirts I used for sub/bleaching. 👍😃

To be honest I have not heard a fan on mine. I don’t use it for a long period of time and it shuts off if it isn’t used in a 10 min period I believe.

First my apologies for a late response. My friend let me see if we can figure this out. The cricut machines all come stock with a standard blade. I rarely use my fine point blade. I just reduce pressure if I have a lighter material. I wouldn’t sign up for any of their plans lol. Just base platform usage. I used creative fabrica platform for all my svg and cut files. Snag that deal here and it’s great deal where you get unlimited access. See if it makes more sense for your crafting needs. www.creativefabrica.com/ref/476735 You can use sweetcountryglam30 for a subscription . So my next question is what were you cutting ? Was the blade all the way in and down in the clamp? Could you see the blade coming down and making contact? I know you said it cut poorly so it clearly was but I’m curious if you saw how much of it. You might need to have spare blades. They are on Amazon for pretty cheap. I always swap mine every 3-4 months based on usage. Let me know your answers and keep me posted on your progress. Let me just say this. I have had weeks where nothing cut right and there was always a jam of some sort. Just be patient with yourself and as you learn this very sassy machine 😅.

@@SweetCountryGlam hi, thank you for your reply. Much appreciated. The first thing I cut was the sticky-backed vinyl which came in the box and it cut that very well. It was the thin card which came with the machine that cut very poorly, plus, I think the standard grip mat is too strong for card. Parts of the pattern barely cut through. Other parts cut quite well. I did check the blade and it was showing and positioned correctly. I look forward to hearing back from you 🙂 Hi, I’ve just tried cutting thin card again. The cuts show up on the front of the card, but only pierces 0.01% through to the back of the card. It’s only thin card!! What is going on?!

Yes you can as long no debris is stuck to it. I reuse it a few times.

You can hand wash it. Permanent will last longer than removable.

Only write no print option on the first joy. Get the cricut joy xtra for printing :)

It honestly isn’t that scary. I wasn’t tech savvy with this stuff and the more I played with it and learned how the platform worked, it got easier and opened doors to new creative possibilities ☀️🤩

Well, to cut out the boring part/ it was just a bunch of tightening bolts. It took my husband an hr to assemble with the Allen wrench is provided.

Thank you Pam. It was a very quick intro. The boxes around the cows are their individual sizes. Then, I downloaded that png and uploaded to design space to give it an offset and flatten it for stickers. I hope that helps ✨✨

I already have a silhouette and a brother scan and cut, but was interested in the joy for writing sentiments for cards and cutting around them easily. Would you still recommend the joy xtra as i have the 2 other machines. TIA @@SweetCountryGlam

Correct, it doesn’t connect to Chromebook’s. Not sure what the issue is there. However, an iPad can help with size or pitching your cell screen to zoom in is another option. :)

This has been my fate many times. It just takes trial and error to find the vinyl that works best.

I have all of them. Honestly, I love my maker and the new xtra joy. I feel for space the joy is best but if you have larger projects need you can’t go wrong with the maker plus it’s specialty tools for various fabric materials .

I would say with the cricut Joy Xtra, you would be able to make nice biz cards.

Hello sweet friend, I am not a fan of smart vinyl. I would get htvront or siser vinyl to weed it easier from the backing. :)

The joy as stated is only able to width wise about 4.5in in height but can cut a banner up to 48in long. You will need smart vinyl for that long of a cut. This joy does connect to a printer😓. You will have to buy the new xtra joy that can connect to printers.
